Virta Costs
For members who are paying out of pocket because their employer or insurer does not (yet) cover the cost of Virta for them, the standard year 1 price is $299/month with a one time $250 initiation (for a Starter Kit) fee.
- Upon entering your second consecutive year with Virta the price is $129/month with no initiation fee.
- Note: In order to be eligible for year 2 pricing, there must be no lapse in the Virta treatment from year one through year two (ex: stopping Virta etc)
- Currently some of our patients have had success using funds from their FSA/HSA, however this cannot be guaranteed by Virta. If you are interested in exploring that option, we recommend contacting your FSA/HSA directly as each one has different rules and requirements. We are happy to provide itemized receipts for this process as well!

What is covered by the cost?
- The cost is all-inclusive, meaning it covers all features of the Virta treatment such as:
- Expert care from a Virta Provider: Your enrollment consultation appointment, in-app medical supervision, adjustments to your care plan, and communication with your primary care provider
- Support from a dedicated Virta Health Coach: Daily in-app messaging to provide answers, feedback, habit-formation strategies, encouragement, and accountability
- Structured education and curated resources: Access to scientifically-vetted educational modules and practical resources like recipes and food guides
- App and biomarker tracking tools: Access to the app and a starter kit with a special cell-connected scale and all the supplies you need to test your glucose and ketones
- Community of peers: Optional membership in our patient community.

Why is the year 1 fee higher than year 2?
- The year 1 fee is higher because patients require more support and supplies in their first year on Virta than they do in subsequent years.

Am I going to be "locked in" for a set amount of time?
- If you choose our self pay option, the subscription runs on a month by month cadence so if at some point you wish to cancel simply reach out to us. There is no penalty fee associated with cancelling so you can stay with Virta for as long you feel is necessary and cancel at your discretion.

I'm willing to pay but I want to speak with someone first. How can I do so?
- We're happy to hear you'd like to enroll! To speak with an enrollment advisor, simply start an application then once you do so, download the Virta app. Once you login, head to the "Coaching" tab and there you can start a conversation with your enrollment advisor. You can also request a call from them if you prefer.
